I had a rare opportunity to take both of my sons for a boating weekend. The first night was at anchor in Liberty Bay, a nearby favorite spot off the town of Poulsbo. Evan and Alec enjoyed a lot of kayaking and seal watching. There were seals everywhere, it was amazing!

Later we grilled chicken for dinner and enjoyed a night on the water. The next day Evan had to get back to Seattle for a Mariner’s game so we headed back to Elliott Bay Marina and stopped just long enough to let him off, then Alec and I continued on to Gig Harbor. Three hours later we dropped anchor and headed for Tides Tavern in the dinghy.

The next day we kayaked all around the bay, stopping at a waterfront park and walking around the town. We had lunch at Net Shed #9, an excellent restaurant that serves a lot of brunch type dishes with eggs, sausages, gravies, etc. It was very good.

We headed back to Seattle later in the afternoon. While Alec was at the helm, I got this great shot of downtown Seattle. It was a fun weekend with my sons!

Looks like fun! Great pictures of everything. Those seals were so close!
