Eagle Harbor, Bainbridge Island 2013

For a pleasant day trip we venture to Eagle Harbor on Bainbridge Island.

Leaving Elliott Bay Marina, a nice day for a cruise.

Bainbridge Island is located across Elliott Bay and is a 30 minute ferry ride from Seattle, popular with commuters.  The ferry landing is in Eagle Harbor at the town of Winslow.  You can see the Seattle skyline from here.

Once inside Eagle Harbor and past the ferry dock, we tie up at the public dock if there is space available.  In the spring and fall or during the week, the public dock usually has room.  This time was no exception.  The city charges a minimal fee for docking here, something like $5.00.  After filling out the registration and paying the fee, we can walk to many restaurants and shops in Winslow.

Here we are tied to the public dock in Eagle Harbor.

The Harbour Public House is a waterfront pub about a 15 minute walk from the public dock.    The pub is unusual in that it does not have any TVs except on a very few occasions, such as when Seattle is in the Super Bowl.  Usually it is a place to relax, talk, and enjoy a meal and beverage.

Eagle Harbor is a very nice place for a quick getaway on the boat.
