I keep a log of all trips and record the distance, destination, hours on the engines, and activities/events along the way. We have had Fiddler for six seasons of cruising and I was interested to look at some statistics. Over the six years we took a total of 95 trips, from just a few hours to months away from the dock. These trips covered 7,342 nautical miles (8,443 statute miles), ranging from Olympia, WA in the South Puget Sound to Juneau, AK. They required 1,107 hours of engine run time for an average distance per hour of 6.6 nautical miles (7.6 statute miles).
Fortunately, we enjoy the journeys as much as the destinations as Fiddler is indeed a slow boat.
