The final organized MBYC cruise of the season was held over the Labor Day weekend at the Port Ludlow outstation. Most of the boats tie to the dock or tie to another boat at the dock, sometimes four deep. Only the people on boats directly tied to the dock have direct access to it. Others walk across the swim steps of other boats to get to the dock. We chose to anchor in the bay and dinghy to the dock for the Beatles-themed festivities. There were organized hikes, lots of food and desserts, a Beatles trivia contest, Bocce ball tournament, and much more. I wore my Walrus, Goo Goo G’joob shirt in the Beatles spirit. For many in the club, this cruise marks the end of the boating season as kids are back in school and good weather starts to wane. We attended four of the club cruises this year. The next organized cruise will be the winter cruise in March.
